DBE & Community Outreach Recap

The African American Chamber of Commerce of Lake Charles (AACCLC) recently hosted a powerful DBE & Community Outreach event in partnership with Louisiana Bridge Builders (LBB) to discuss the Calcasieu River Bridge Project and its impact on local businesses and the community.

Attendees learned about the current status of the I-10 Bridge Project, upcoming opportunities for contractors and vendors, and how small and minority-owned businesses can get involved. The event also provided a valuable chance to network, connect with project representatives, and enjoy light refreshments among fellow professionals.

Key Highlights:

  • Presentation by Jonathan Hill, project representative for LBB

  • Overview of DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) participation opportunities

  • Insights on upcoming job openings and skilled trade positions

  • Networking between local entrepreneurs, chamber members, and construction industry leaders

The Chamber extends its thanks to all attendees and partners who made the event a success. Stay tuned — a follow-up meeting is being planned to provide updates and continue connecting qualified businesses with project opportunities.
